I put a question in about not receiving my 1099 form for income tax yet and wonder if they have not been sent out. The "Ask: SS" says they send an answer every 9 seconds. I asked the question about the 1099 statement this morning at about 10AM and still have no answer.

In the last year, every time I've been into this office, I've dealt with the same gentleman, I will not add his name because I intend to hire an attorney to assisst me in moving forward to resolve this issue. I cannot be the only person who has this same problem though... I have been into this office 4 times and EVERY time, they have "lost" my paperwork!! Two times he lost my Request for Waiver for an overpayment, and another two times he suggested that I file a Request for Reconsideration, so I did and left it right there at the office, put it in the box as he told me to - and it was "lost" once again! They've rec'd NONE of these forms from me according to their system. A bit odd I would say. The last time I was in there, I recorded my entire visit with my iPhone. It's been well over 60 days so they tell me I'm screwed with regard to ever seeing the over $3,000 that they took from me. This was an overpayment they paid to my 19 year old son who did NOT live with me at the time -I never saw that money in the first place, why did they take it from ME? Nobody will listen to me, look at the records that are clear as day, OR refund me MY lost income. It's insane and it all reverts back to ONE employee at THIS office and nobody will hear me.

Can I make an appointment to meet with someone in Brooklyn Center...my social security number suddenly is coming up "unavailable to verify" every time I have had to use it recently. I need to get this resolved...I tried to do online, and again told "unable to verify". I lost my social security card many years ago, but had number memorized and was always able to use my W-2 form if social security number was requested. I will be applying for my Social Security benefits shortly and need resolution. Please reply. Thank you.

on 6-30-15 I called 1 800 772 1213, spoke with a Kevin as I received a letter from SS Ad. telling me to call Before 7-13-15 to make an apt. I did this and have Not received any response from Brooklyn Ctr.for that apt. I actually waited 36 min. before I got thru. I guess my nxt step is to walk into the office tomorrow (7-13-15). when I was in that office on 2-25-2014 I dealt with a Nancy Matz. She was so helpful I am hoping I can get her again.

I had fraud on my bank account and had to open a new account. I want to find out the process to transfer my direct deposit ss check from one account to another. No answers were here. Too many hoops to jump through.

I am giving this rating to Stuart, who works at the BC office. I had needed to apply for Medicare Part B and was having a very frustrating experience tracking my current "stage" of approval with SS. After a month of receiving no information (the systems were down, etc.) I called the BC office where I had dropped my information in the "drop off box"; one month earlier, and found out the information I had submitted was LOST. The person who does this job was on vacation along with her "back up" but Stuart, who had answered my call really helped me. He asked if I had made copies of the information I had previously submitted and since I had he told me to bring the information in and he would see me, even though the office was closing in a hour. Long story, short, he saw me, had my letter ready that verified I was covered at the beginning of that month (or I would have needed to pay a huge COBRA payment and was able to take care of this problem within 10 min. I was so grateful for his efficiency and all he said was "have a nice fourth of July weekend." Thank you, again, Stuart. I have my card and I owe it all to you for your "above and beyond" help that you gave me that day.

I applied over the phone with an agent from your office to be covered under my husband's soc sec after receiving widow's benefits. I was told it would start with my Feb Payment but it is still the same as it was. I sent all the necessary paper work. What is wrong? Please leave me a # so I can to someone about this. Thank you.
