I find it interesting that we can have court but we cant make an appointment to talk to anyone. And first you tell us how important it is to keep our SSN secure and then you want us to send it through the mail, which you also state is slow and apparently not secure. So how is a person suppose to get a name change when for all security reasons, it can't be accomplished. And it masks and plexy glass work for all retailers, doctors offices, airports, and transit, why cannot they not work for the SS office. This seems like security is only important for the employees at the expense of us putting our secured information out for the taking.

I have attempted to contact the SSA office to make changes to address, living arrangements and potential income. I continue to get blocked on line and cannot get through to the 800 number. This is extremely frustrating as I am responsible for reporting these issues.

If you get lucky to get through like my husband did about 5 mins to 4, you get lucky enough to get someone that says hello hello i can't hear you I am gonna disconnect and that is what she did and pretty sure she packed up
And went home? They tell you when you call
Your wait is 1:25 mins but you wait 2 hours and still there is still no answet????? Does the government not have recordings on their phones when no one is there??? So everyone who doesn't know better hangs on the phone for nothing. Is this crazy Or what??

Bonnie Born wrote on 02.11.2018 and gave a rating 4 of 5:

Really is there anyone that answers these phones?????! My hold time was supposed to be 1;24 mins and I am ok the phone now 1:50.
My husband finally got answered after a hour a few mins before 4 and guess what she couldn't hear him she said to him hello I can't hear you I am gonna disconnect and I guess what did she Maybe her last call of the day?? I worked in a call center know how it works? I really have a feeling the government is wasting our time. Why do you not say you are closed for the day and disconcert the call like normal business.

Paid for a kit to replace my ss card. Had to send in drivers license for proof which they are supposed to send back. It has been 5 weeks - I just called the 800 line, took 7 minutes to get thru the menu, then told by the system that I would be next in line after 1 HOUR hold time!!! Is THIS the type of service what I’ve worked my WHOLE LIFE for!?!?

I need to speak to someone at Social Security and there is no phone #!!! This is absolutely ridiculous, the 800 # doesn't have anyone answering the phone either. I am so frustrated with this system already and am just trying to get some answers to a few questions!!!!
