Overall rating of this office:When I called to ask a few questions that were not covered in the email I received when needing to change my name, the gentleman I spoke with was ugly, nasty and continually spoke over me. He spoke to me like I was dumb when I asked a simple question. When I asked his name, he acted like he couldn't hear me and hung up. He was rude and very unprofessional.
Javier and Dave in the Longview, Texas Office were very kind, concise, and helpful. I grew up in Longview and have found them to always be helpful, compared to the general Offices.
Received phone call from N.Carolina stating fraudulent charges had been placed against my ss#. WHAT? Tried to contact OIG website and page could not be found. The call originated from (910) 565-4489, address shows to be W.Elwood Ave., Raeford, NC 25376. This needs to be reported , I tried with no luck. km

I have some questions:
I want to apply for social security at 63 years old this November. Will that be taxed? Can I get direct deposit? After applying, how long of a wait is it before I receive my first ss check? Is there anything special I need to know about the application process?
