I went by the local SS office to get a replacement card for my daughter. When I initially went in I had no idea what I needed to do. There is no one to direct you and there were no signs either. Finally I figured I needed to retrieve a number from an automated machine. My first try the machine failed to give me a #. Tried a second time and got one. Since I didn't know what documents I needed for proof to replace my daughters' card, I looked around to see if there were any pamphlets or info on the required documents. There were none. I didn't want to interrupt the clients that were already being attended by the SS clerks but I had no other option! I excused myself and asked the clerk my question. She stated I needed to wait my turn and then I would be told what documents I needed. Unbeleiveable!! Who has 2-3 hours to spare and wait just to be told what documents I need to repalce a SS card?? Thank God I thought about going online. I came home, of course lost my turn and will go by tommorow. Horrible service.
